Vegan Candles

Beeswax candles are not vegan. Additionally some additives used either in the wax itself or in candle dyes can contain animal derivatives. For example, Stearic acid is sometimes added to candle wax to improve rigidity and/or increase the opaqueness of the appearance. Stearic acid can be either an animal or vegetable derivative and should be throughly investigated by those seeking vegan candles. Positively Glowing use a combination of coconut and rapeseed waxes in their purest form which are completely additive-free, are 100% plant-based, non-palm, non-soy, non-GM, non-paraffin, kosher, halal and of course vegan friendly. Positively Glowing do not use candle dye.

Beeswax candles are non-vegan. In order to ensure no hidden use of animal derivatives, close investigation of the source of additive ingredients is required.

Rapeseed wax is a natural, sustainable, renewable plant-based or vegetable wax produced form the oil extracted from rapeseed seeds. It is commonly combined with either coconut wax or other waxes. Both coconut wax is also natural, sustainable, renewable and plant-based.
